All of my pieces are made from real wood and never manufactured wood products. I source wood from forests, lumber mills, old barnes, the banks of lakes and rivers, and various other sources.
I try to emphasize the natural and existing features of the wood, sometimes mixing species, in any given piece.
There is such satisfaction in beginning with a piece of wood, not always knowing where the piece is headed at the outset, and seeing that process through to the end, often guided by the wood itself. Results include additive sculpture, subtractive forms, home décor, and utilitarian objects.
